Swagbucks review: our honest test

Its own client surveys completed noticeably more often than the other sites' surveys. Most entries still die in Swagbucks' pre-screening questions, and we had no luck at night.

What we liked

  • Best return on time actually spent of the four, in daytime testing.
  • Swagbucks' own client surveys completed far more often than outside survey routers.
  • Choosing higher-reward surveys and accepting ones up to about 20 minutes gave us our best stretch.

  • Most entries never got past Swagbucks' own pre-screener.
  • No completed surveys between 9 PM and 5 AM in a week of testing.
  • Sorting by “best reward per minute” steered us toward tiny-reward surveys.
  • Screen-outs earn little or nothing.

How it works

You earn points called SB. Surveys start with Swagbucks' own pre-screening questions, then route either to Swagbucks' client surveys or to outside panels. The site also pays for shopping, videos and other tasks, but we only tested surveys.

Cashing out

SB can be redeemed for gift cards or PayPal, and gift cards have a low minimum. When we got to the cash-out step, Swagbucks asked for a text-message verification code. We haven't finished a Swagbucks cash-out yet, so we can't rate payout speed.

How we tested

We used one account on each site for about a week in October 2026, with the same household profile on all four. We counted only surveys the site actually credited and checked them against balance changes. We compared how often attempts completed, how long completed surveys took, and what cashing out involved.

A note on screen-outs: many of our rejections came from automated quality and security checks, such as VPN or duplicate-device detection, not from ordinary “you don't qualify” screeners. Our test connection was a type these checks tend to flag, so someone on a typical home connection will likely be screened out less often than we were.
